Lilies
The graceful lily can mean many things. It can symbolise royalty, motherhood, fertility and rebirth, purity and passion. Its name traces back through numerous civilizations to one of the first words for flower, showing its importance through the centuries. Lilies are traditionally used as wedding flowers in China, as their name sounds like the start of a phrase wishing the couple a happy union for 100 years. White lilies are an obvious symbol of purity and are also used to express loss as they are believed to relieve heartache. Pink lilies can mean ambition and yellow lilies most commonly symbolise good health and healing.
