Chrysanthemum
As a flower of great importance, the Chrysanthemum can symbolise loyalty and devotion, lasting friendship, long life, joy and optimism. The Greek words for gold (chrysos) and flower (anthemon) were combined to reflect the beauty and value of this bloom. The name carries over in Chinese and Japanese translations, which literally mean gold flower as well. Chrysanthemums come in various shapes and sizes and are one of the most important cut flowers used for bouquets and boutonnieres today. They are the traditional flower choice for Mother’s Day gifts in Australia too. Chrysanthemums are the perfect choice to show loyalty and love to friends, especially when they’re facing an obstacle or recovering from a life-changing event.
