Focus your attention on the things you can control
As humans, we tend to want to control every aspect of our lives. But what about the things we cannot control? Instead of worrying about them, ask yourself: “Is this something I can control? Will worrying be beneficial in any way?” Be clear on what you can and cannot control so that you don’t put unnecessary stress in your life.
Show compassion towards yourself
Often, we are the ones who are hardest on ourselves. Take this break to be kind to yourself and to find inner peace. Remind yourself that you are doing a good job and you do not need to compare yourself to others.
Be true to yourself
It’s too easy to let society dictate your choices. But don’t let it affect the way you live your life. You don’t need to spend overtime on a career to impress others. Live a life that’s congruent to your values. Make your own decisions on what’s important to you.
Schedule time for yourself
Our bodies and mind need to rest too. Pamper yourself by lighting up a scented candle, putting on a face mask and playing some gentle music to keep yourself relaxed. Other things can wait. (Yes, really!)
Do good deeds
Doing good deeds and acts of kindness create emotional warmth, which releases a hormone known as oxytocin. This hormone makes us feel good and happy inside. Try surprising a loved one with flowers or gifts for an instant mood booster!
